the privacy properties of google chrome have been questioned numerous times. it will install tracking and also the "google updater" on your system. SRWare (a small company from germany) for quite some time has been maintaining a browser called SRWare Iron, built on the chromium engine, that has a list of important privacy and security related differences with google chrome.
if one likes using the chromium engine, until google changes their policy on the subject, i encourage the switch to SRWare Iron as an alternative.
